Policy changes in health and social care present new opportunities for primary care to work in partnership with others to improve provision for people with mental health problems. Policy connections between mental health services, primary and community care were not always made effectively in the past and attention to implementation has been patchy. Both general practices and primary care groups could benefit from the lessons learned in the course of a King's Fund and Centre for Mental Health services development initiative. This report lists the findings which can be used by practices, primary care groups and other health and social care agencies as they work together to plan and deliver integrated mental health care.
