Abstract
  • This is the third publication in a series based on the work of the King's Fund Nursing Development Units. Using interviews with staff, this book offers examples from five different units of the way in which patients and clients have become actively involved in delivery of care and service developments. The case studies are: the Tameside Advocacy Service CHAMP (Community and Hospital Advocacy for Mental Health Persons); Stepney Community NDU working with Bangladeshi families; Witney Learning Disability NDU, Oxford; Weston Park Oncology NDU in Sheffield; Homeward Rehabilitation NDU for elderly people in Brighton. Out of these case studies come practical guidelines to help those considering the implementation of patient participation in their own units.
