  • This book is one of two evaluative studies describing developments in four pilot sites and in the Care of the Elderly Unit at Tameside. The four sites are: Brighton, Camberwell, Southport and West Dorset NDUs. It is a study of nursing practice and staff development, set against a background of increasing pressure to use nursing resources more effectively. The purpose was to describe the process of establishing four NDUs in order to gain knowledge which could inform future policy decisions as to the effectiveness and benefits of such innovations.
