  • The aim of this paper is to highlight the fundamental principles upon which the future curriculum will be based, and to discuss the implications in terms of curriculum design and the issue of where students should learn, with special reference to London. In this way the likely developments in undergraduate medical education can be linked into a wider vision for the future of health services in London. It was prepared to inform the work of the King's Fund Commission on the Future of Acute Services in London. It is being published in advance of the Commission's strategy for London in order to inform debate about the future of health care in the capital. This paper should not, however, be interpreted as in any way anticipating the recommendations of the Commission's final report.
