  • The conference examined the role of the Community Health Council in relation to health promotion and health education. It was asked how far should and can CHCs influence the development of preventive strategies by health authorities and how far should CHCs become directly involved in such activities themselves. Health promotion was examined in social, economical and political context, before discussing recent innovations by health authorities and CHCs. Future strategies for health promotion and the role of the Health Education Council were debated in discussion groups.
