  • This publication has evolved from a peer group of nurses who have worked in the role of nurse teacher while combining it with clinical responsibilities, and researchers interested in observing such roles. Despite widespread interest, joint clinical teaching appointments are relatively few in number and geographically dispersed. The peer group was established in 1982, and has met periodically at the King's Fund Centre in order that participants could learn from each other how they managed their complex jobs, and benefit from each others' experiences. It is hoped that this project paper will prove a worthwhile basis for those considering setting up similar appointments.
