  • This report describes the work of a small special interest group established in 1981, to promote the concept of continuing education. Ways of carrying out this promotion included stimulating national interest and awareness through the dissemination of information and ideas via conferences, publications and workshops and examining the role of the teacher in continuing education with the intention of designing a course to prepare the person for the role. Relevant reports have been analysed and comments forwarded to the appropriate bodies. The report covers these and other issues discussed at the conference.
