  • This paper looks at how people with learning difficulties are considered when they experience the death of somebody who has been close to them. Because society continues to have stereotyped ideas about people with learning difficulties, when they grieve, they may not be shown the consideration due to them. This discussion paper concentrates on their emotional needs and their responses to death and discusses these issues under the main headings of sharing, reacting, helping and caring.
