Unit management in context : a project paper compiled as a result of workshops and conferences held at the King's Fund College and King's Fund Centre, February 1980 - February 1982
This project paper has been compiled as a result of workshops and conferences on unit management held at the King's Fund College and King's Fund Centre, February 1980 - February 1982. The challenge for management at unit level is to improve efficiency, monitor standards, simplify decision-making processes and carry out good personnel practice. It requires skills of leadership and administrative coordination, and the principle of delegation must not stop with the Director of Nursing Services and the Unit Administrator. This is not an attempt to produce a 'King's Fund' solution or definitive answer to many of the issues considered but to stimulate thought and help managers to think about their own situations.
