Abstract
  • The introduction of the Royal Society for Health Diploma in Dental Health Education has come at a time of increasing pressure for professional recognition within the NHS hierarchy. It poses questions both of the role and career prospects for dental health educators, and also of their relationship to general health education. It was hoped that participants would be able to move towards a clarification of the definition of dental health education, and an outline of the skills needed in its practice in the light of current developments within the NHS.
