  • TASH is the Association for the Severely Handicapped in the U.S.A. The aim of their 8th annual conference was to think about how everyone, including those with the most severe handicaps, can be fully involved in life in the community. Three main themes were dealt with at the conference: the process of establishing basic rights through legislative process; the transition from institutional services to community-based models of care which integrate severely handicapped people into their communities; and a look at directions for the future.
