This project paper summarises the results of a survey of youth training in the NHS. The survey looked at the extent of involvement by the NHS in the Work Experience on Employers' Premises (WEEP) Scheme sponsored by the Manpower Services Commission and at the youth training being undertaken more generally. Recruitment and training of young people for jobs in the technical, maintenance, clerical and ancillary service areas are described in case studies in chapter 1. Further chapters cover the survey itself and the implications of the survey results for the Youth Training Scheme.
