In 1961 the king's Fund decided to set up a Working Party to enquire into the duties and training of domestic administrators in order to determine the kind of training likely to produce and maintain the most efficient service. The duties of domestic administrators are described and the following training requirements made: comprehensive courses for those wishing to take up the post of hospital domestic administrators; in-post training for those administrators who have not received systematic training; brief refresher courses to consolidate what has already been learned by the domestic administrators.
