  • This report makes observations which it hopes will be of use to the Royal Commission. There are five observations on the `Royal Commission on the National Health Service': morale in the National Health Service; the role of the district; management training; the role of the volunteer; community health councils. The sixth section considers five areas of current interest of the King's Fund which seem to have relevance for the work of the Royal Commission: information services; future organisation of hospital clinical work; medical records and the need for more intensive study of clinical outcome; treatment and care of minor illness; systems for the care of people with physical disabilities. An appendix lists addresses of patient's organisations known to the King's Fund.
