This document discusses the development of planned programmes of training for nurses. A planned programme of training is as a result of reference to a training programme (a frame of reference which allows one to construct a programme of nurse training and education). A planned programme of training is a proposal for the movement of student and pupil nurses between areas of clinical experience and service, study periods and holidays during the total length of their training. The discussions in the document are based on a thesis called `Nurse allocation'.
