  • One of the aims of the conference was to discuss the issues raised in the King's Fund Project Paper no. 51 ` Advocacy : the UK and American experiences'. This paper is an account of the conference and includes a list of the participants (including contributors to the project paper), as well as workers who are developing citizen advocacy schemes around the country and members of self advocacy schemes. Problems of defining and implementing citizen advocacy were explored along with the roles of advocacy groups such as S.E. London Self Advocacy, People First, Advocacy Alliance and Citizens First - North West.
