  • The aims of the survey were: i) to record and describe the experience of hospitals in relation to the recruitment, training ,remuneration and method of working of voluntary service organisers; ii) to study the achievements of full-time organisers in the use of volunteers within the hospitals and in their relationships with the local community and with the health service and welfare communities; iii) to produce and publish information that would be of immediate practical help to hospital authorities developing the use of voluntary service and considering the employment of organisers of volunteers.
