  • Since the publication of An Ordinary Life in 1980, the King's Fund has shared with a large and growing network of people across the country in efforts to develop comprehensive community-based services. Experience has underlined the importance of staff training in its broadest sense as a fundamental contribution to the successful implementation of community services. These collected papers from the two workshops held at the Centre on 23 November 1984 and 16 April 1985 cover the kinds of training needed, training existing staff for change, regional initiatives, in-service training, positive monitoring and staff support.
