  • The Health Advisory Service has been operating for almost 20 years. This is the first detailed study of its effectiveness. The authors describe how the Health Advisory Service works and reflect upon what they saw and heard in their investigation. They considered three questions - how well does the Health Advisory Service fulfil its role; does it represent good value for money; does it offer a good model for other development agencies in the National Health Service?
