  • This book reviews the literature on the health of minority ethnic populations in Britain. It focusses principally upon current knowledge about the health status of minority ethnic populations in Britain and the use of health care resources made by them, as well as describing the suggested factors which underlie these patterns. It also provides a commentary on policy making in the health sector which has been undertaken with special regard to minority ethnic populations. In perusing these themes the book relates the health experience of minority ethnic groups to an understanding of their particular position in contemporary British society and its broader implications for the social pattern of health. Chapter 7 provides commentary on policy making which has attempted to address the ethnic minority health needs.
