Abstract
  • The first briefing gave an indication of some of the major issues involved in joint commissioning services for older people. It also gave an introduction to the work taking place at the five King's Fund development sites which are: Easington; Hillingdon; Oxfordshire; Westminster; and Wiltshire. This second briefing concentrates on how these sites are getting on with their various joint commissioning activities. It gives an insight into what collaborative commissioning really means, the complexities, problems and achievements. It shows that for older people's services at least both strategic and local involvement is necessary. Progress at each development site is examined in turn, focussing upon: aims and objectives; achieving change; key players; and a brief commentary to be expanded upon in future briefings.
