The planning and organisation of nucleus hospitals : a consolidated report of two conferences held at the King's Fund Centre on Tuesday 30 September 1980 and Wednesday 21 January 1981
The report begins with a description of the two main presentations - the development of the nucleus hospital from a DHSS viewpoint, and then the experience of planning a nucleus hospital presented as two case studies from Newham Hospital and Maidstone District General Hospital. Discussion centred around the following points: service planning, commissioning, capital planning and revenue consequences of a nucleus project, space limitations, checklist, evaluation and flexibility of the design in use.
