  • This report recommends that cooperation between hospital doctors and general practitioners should be facilitated by the adoption of standard forms for doctor's letters and hospital replies. The report also suggests that the use of the standard forms might afford an opportunity of drawing attention to the importance of patients being sent to hospital at particular times, and that the hospitals should keep general practitioners informed as far as possible of these times by issuing outpatient timetables.
